So my offspring is playing chess in Bridgend and I bullied him to ride pillion with me to the venue so I can have a blast while he is concentrating hard.
I managed to go up following the A4061, crossed the A465 and went to Penderyn on the A4059. Back on the A470, A465 bit of M4 to find he is still playing after 3 hours...Beautiful day, not too much traffic, could make good progress and practiced some cornering on the mountain roads.

And while he was playing his second game I went for a different route: A48 to Port Talbot, then picking up the A4107 all the way to Bwlch Mountain viewpoint, then coming down again through Blackmill, turning towards Tonyrefail, following the a4119 then some small lanes until Talbot Green and picked up the a473 to arrive back to the hotel almost exactly the same time as he came out from the game victorious! http://chess-results.com/tnr454884.aspx?...=2&rd=2&flag=30 As he is playing every day this week, I hope to get to do a few more rides :)
