RE: Plastic washers body screw tankcover - 2

The upper side panels are anchored at the top edge by moulded "fingers" that mate with a small channel running along the sides of the center panel. They disengage when you gently and evenly lift the panel from the bottom.
You must remove all of the T-25s, of course, and there is a clip as shown in the posted photo to the bottom side panel.
When I use the term "evenly lift", just remember it does not take much force, the lift is straight up and gentle rocking, that is lift a bit at the front, then a lift at the back, will work.
Once you have done it the first time, you will be fine.

How do I remove the sidefairing (right and left is the same I assume) without breaking some tabs? In your last picture (with the red stripe to the tab) I see that the tank piece and the black piece are still connected to each other; so I assume you take them off in one piece? And how do you disconnect that piece from the fueltank, pull/push it or something? And do I need to remove the lower sidefairing (the piece with the blinker) to remove that tank piece? Unfortunately there isn't a Youtube item of it.

I never removed those pieces so I'm a bit cautious.

Thanks for posting the pics. However, all of that disassembly just to replace an air filter...........Jeezus. Reminds me of some Detroit products from the 60's when you had to jack the engine off of the motor mounts to change a spark plug.
