Well this has been an interesting year. Covid cancels my trip to Prince Edward Island, then I get the pleasure of plugging a tire from a screw (my first in over 40 years). And now no bike, because if idiot driver.
Last night on the way from work, I was down to a foot or so from a complete stop and bang hit from behind. For the damage that resulted I feel very fortunate to come out with a sore arm and a little sore in the lower back. I had replace the foam back protect in the jacket with a high quality unit back in February, which I feel save my back as I ended up on my back on the motorcycle. ATGATT. All parties involved agree that the car driver is 100% at fault. It's great that you're intact. I'm sincerely happy for that but, darn, they killed a Lupin...��.

Glad you are not hurt worse than that. More damage to the car than I anticipated. Take care of yourself the next couple days.

Glad you are ok, Shame about the Lupin, I had one murdered by a van driver and they make a sorry sight after an impact. Take care and get well soon. It sounds like your claim is pretty clear. (Mine was less clear as the van driver did a runner!)

Sad reading, glad you�re OK. Maybe this will tempt you onto a 1250 version next.

Glad to hear that you were not hurt more than soreness, but sorry that the bike is so damaged. Looks like a young chap was the driver in the second photo ... any idea of what happened? Texting perhaps? Was he issued a ticket?

Hope that the insurance can make you whole, but at the same time, they are only responsible for giving you the worth of the bike at the time of the accident based on fair market value. That is usually not enough to offset the cost of another bike let alone the sentimental loss. If totalled, you may be able to buy it back and even fix it up or part it out.

1st, Glad your injuries seem minor. 2nd, I was hit last year, making a low speed right turn into my office, and the driver behind me either tried to pass on the right, or just never saw me. I'm healthy, but dealing with the insurance, even with the police report clearly stating it was the driver's fault, was a huge pain in the ass! I lawyered up for the medical claim, which still isn't resolved 9+months later. My lawyer did not assist directly with the property damage portion of the claim, but did advise me on local laws concerning Loss of Use and some other factors, which was very useful. My lawyer should end up getting 1/3 of the medical payout, which has definitely been worth it. I advise you get a lawyer, if for no other reason than to take some of the hassle off your plate. The insurance company, Geico, was mostly horrible to deal with. I truly believe they played a lot of games with me, so that I'd get frustrated and give in to a low-ball offer. Just sharing my experience, so that hopefully yours runs more smoothly. Heal up quickly, get some muscle relaxers so the back doesn't lock up too badly. The drugs were a god send for the first 2-3 days in my case. Didn't really need them passed that. Best of luck
