The Special Escort Group chose white.

the blue Exclusive is not too far from Gendarme Bleu (although, they seem to be on mainly white FJR1300 nowadays)

BMW always do a 'Police' version of their top bikes F800GS R1200/1250RS (Also the R1250RT) Additional wiring for radios, lights and sirens and handlebar switches... and those lovely slim panniers... single seat and of course available in any colour as long as its 'White' Not available to us mere mortals...

Well, you can keep on complaining about the color scheme but if you look closely you'll see that yellow is not that far off (white) and the frame is already in the correct color.

What else could you ask for?

I'm happy with the "baby poo-version" and, strange as it is, in real life I do get a lot of compliments about the looks of the bike. (even on how beautiful the engine runs!)

Think those days are long gone with the K range. True, many UK forces still use BMWs but the SE group bikes were commissioned and equipped to SE group spec by a small company in Hampshire, including the slim panniers - which contractually they are not allowed to supply to anyone else. There was a close up picture on here some time ago where you could see that the slim pannier was a butchered standard pannier with the lid riveted to the base.

That is why their police bikes are called by BMW the "Authority" models. Apparently, their regular customers are not "Authorities".

I won't ask how you know this... but I think I can guess.
