I had a near miss on Christmas Eve. In short, I was travelling in lane 3 on the motorway when a distracted car driver decided to suddenly move over from lane 2 without any indication. There was quite a difference in speed (the car was behind a truck heading up an incline) and as such I had to brake very heavily. Well, the bike performed simply fantastically and as such I would like to thank the designers of my 2015 lupin for the fantastic brakes and steering damper (there was a bit of handlebar wobble but nothing serious). As it was wet, the pilot road 4s must have helped as well. To be honest, after attending the motorcycle show in Birmingham (Uk) recently I had been a little tempted to change bike - the Moto Guzzi V85 caught my eye, but no chance I’m changing now. |

Weirdly, I was surprisingly calm throughout. It all seemed to happen in slow motion and the RS behaved in a nice and predictable way. I didn't get too cross with the car driver - to be frank there is no point. I think I could learn something from the experience, whilst technically in no way my fault I think I could have anticipated that car might want to overtake and have been better prepared for action. Either way, very pleased indeed with how the bike performed. Absolutely filthy at the moment but being used as it should be. |

My Royal Enfield, with its drum rear brake, doesn't need no stinkin' ABS.
