I was reading through the "smoke and fire" thread and saw the pics of your bike (I assume). The original bars on the bike were great for confidence and control but I couldnt ride very far without pain in my lower back and pelvis area. Like you, I tried the risers you have and although they were better, it was not by much.
But when I put proper bars on, it was like a night and day difference. I installed the Wunderlich kit and I can ride 6-8 hours no sweat (well the skin of my ass aint so great) as you are almost upright and if I ride with just my fingertips on the grips, I am upright.

Not trying to dash your new bike dream but if you did want to keep the RS it may be worth trying someone's bike that has them.

My very good friend had a Tuareg (after his GSA) for a couple of years and did a few mods, seats, screens, exhaust and although he liked it well enough, he just sold it. I dont think he had much faith in it's reliability and felt he was wringing it out when we were on the slab. He just bought an Africa Twin. I rode the Tuareg a bit but it feels just like a dual sport to me.

so I will spend it rather than leave it to my son. He'll get the house but he and the government ain't getting any cash! Hopefully, I will still be riding in 2029 when I reach official retirement age and the state pension kicks in.
