Cheers for that - sorry, by 'headers' I mean front pipes. Id appreciate your comments from your dealer, although if it was just the silencer then it ooks increasingly likely that Euro 4 silencers will fit. Happy Days...!!!

I GOT IT. The bike was prepared as I had requested. The top box lid has been painted in the Blue Exclusive colour. In the sunlight you can see the metal flake.

At this point I have yet to begin to install the "farkles" from the R1200RS, and I should have that done before Sunday.

One thing that I have noted, the screen on the 1250 is not the same as the screen on the (2015) 1200. The new screen has clear dimples for the mounting screws. The 1200 was a flat screen with rubber bushes and "top hat" spacers.

At this time I have some trouble working out which of the units (TFT or Nav) is to get the attention of the Sena headset. I believe the Sena allows 2 devices to be paired, one as a phone and one as a media device. My best guess (subject to help y'all may give) is to pair the Nav V as a media device and pair the TFT as the mobile phone.

At this time I am getting a metallic "tinkle" at low rpm (I am urban riding). It is not from the motor as revving it in neutral does not create the sound. My guess is that something on the light metal engine spoiler is just vibrating. I will check it out over the next few days.

Otherwise, if you shut your eyes it is the same bike - which is a really good thing.

I didn't appreciate from the photos that apart from the paint scheme, the engine is now painted black. Note - this is an error. The 1200 was black too. Put it down to old age.... Next time I see the BMW brochure I will see if that is the same for all the colours offered this year.

Otherwise, the common complaint for some years with the 1200 has been the sidestand. The sidestand on the 1250 is fine, and I can't really say it is different from the one I had on the 1200. I suspect that the sidestand works better in Oz as we drive on the right and the camber of the roads suits the stand. For those who drive on the left, it may be not as helpful.

Oh, the hill start assist (or whatever it is called) is useful at the moment as it allows me to fish in my pocket for the dongle to open my garage door pending re-fitting of the on-board dongle.

Standard seat is still in place. It is just as good as the previous standard seat - and it will only be pig-headedness and habit that will have me install the Corbin.

I have a photo of it, but it is a bit beyond me to transfer from the phone to the computer right now, as the phone is picking up the maps for the BMW app and my Garmin is updating as well.

Anyway, I have to get back to the real world and try to do something constructive in my job now....

I will look at the spoiler mounting over the next few days and see if I can locate it.

Still no R1250R or RS models at my favorite BMW dealer. When asked about the lack of bikes in his showroom (about 7) the sales manager told me that he was waiting to order the 2020 model line and just didn't want any 2019 bikes around as once the new bikes were available the older ones would be tough to sell. The only new models that are easy for him to sell right now are the R1250GS and the F750GS, along with the occasional R1250RT. However it did look like he had sold all of his G310R and GS bikes that were there the last time I visited three weeks ago. I didn't ask about those, though.

I get this too! I couldn't describe the noise, but metallic tinkle is as close as I can define. It's definitely there at low revs. Never had it on the R1200RS.

I have this tinkle (almost a pinging sound) as well, only happens for a split second when I open the throttle at low revs. Had the mechanic check this at it's first service, he reset some values, but it is still there.
Doesn't affect performance at all, so now don't worry about it. Have 2.5Km's on the bike at present.
Was considering a second hand R1200RS, glad I waited for the 1250.

Well here it is, in almost all it’s glory. Just need the Black Akro to be added before I pick it up next week.
Amazing deal from Bahnstormer, in a different country to the one offered by CW, probably since this was in stock. It’s got some bells and whistles (alarm and telematics) that i didn’t want, so they haven’t charged me for them.
