That's why I wouldn't opt for the billet valve covers on the 1250 (although they look cool). I'd only cover them right up with some MAM X-Heads. They have more than paid for themselves on my RS

Stefan, I've used the Motorrad app and it synchs up to the TFT, not the Nav VI. I actually think the motorrad app isn't half bad and it lets you set how much "twistiness" you want in your route. Congrats again on the new bike.

A beautiful "austin yellow" full option R1250RS.
I'm aware there are some thoughts about the choices of BMW for the R1250RS, but as I really like the colour, I simply bought it and traded in my "frozen bronze R1200RS". Another colour disliked by so many.

Since I ride daily (with a gap now for recovery) i thought the GPS unit was not needed at all. I had some money to burn, so "what the Hell" I got it after about 9 months.

On the 1200 it was a way better display once the GPS was moved above the dash. Once there on the Vortex, the GPS came into its own.

The new 1250 has a really good dash and can also access your phone for music and GPS. I still plan on using the Nav, but it's utility may be reduced as the new setup is so much better.

About the only remaining advantage is the high mounted location - it approaches a heads up display. and leapfrogs the GPS above the std display literally and figuratively.
